    About

    Max Beckman

    Actor, Dancer, Singer, Mask Teacher

2017 B.F.A. Honors graduate of NYU Tisch, Max is an AEA & SAG-E actor represented by Bramante Artists & Talent Express Management for Film, TV, Theatre, Commercial, VO, Print, & Public Appearance.

Most recently in 2023, he made his Network TV debut with a Co-Star in Dick Wolf's classic American Police Procedural, Law & Order (Season 22 Episode 12 "Almost Famous"). He can also be seen in a Supporting Role in the upcoming Independent Crime/Action Feature Film, The Last Vendetta (Dir. Andre Joseph/AJ Epyx Productions).

Since age 5, Max knew the acting bug had bit him... hard. It started while seeing local theatre productions of Oliver! and Annie with his Mommom, as he nudged her arm during intermission and said, "I can do that!" As fate would have it, Max now prides himself on being a character actor, or "chameleon," as professional colleagues have called him.

Max recently played all 7 of 8 Lead Roles (Shanghai, Odessa, Warsaw, Chicago, Simon, Havana, Cairo) in Netflix’s, Money Heist: The Experience NYC from November 2021-April 2022, which CNN Underscored described as the "#1 best immersive experience around the world you need to visit". Money Heist: The Experience NYC was produced in tandem with Fever & JJLA.

Following Money Heist, he played multiple Lead Roles (Dr. Mathers, PR Rep Blake Collins, and Dr. Brady) in Netflix's Immersive, Interactive Multimedia Theatre Production, Stranger Things: The Experience NYC, produced in tandem with Fever and MYCOTOO, from April-September 2022.

In addition to playing nearly every role in Money Heist, Max was voted Character Captain by his Producers, Directors, & Stage Manager. According to the Executive Producer, Jeff Consoletti, the Character Captains showed "exceptional dedication, commitment, and led with a spirit of compassion, collaboration, and kindness throughout our time working together." Max is proud and grateful for this acknowledgment and recognition.

Prior to the above projects, Max studied extensively with with Ted Sluberski, Brian O'Neil, Terry Knickerbocker, Andy Roth, Ellen Parks, Kevin Kuhlke, David Brimmer, Michael Chin, Joe Holt, David Cady, Per Brahe, and many more masters of their craft around the world (see resume for more).

He trained at NYU Tisch's Experimental Theatre Wing, Stonestreet Studios Film/TV Conservatory, International Theatre Workshop/Amsterdam, Netherlands (Dir. Kevin Kuhlke), the Ultimate Theatre Workshop/Bali, Indonesia (Dir. Per Brahe), as well as classes/workshops with casting directors from Film/TV networks and production companies including Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, NBC Universal, CBS, Warner Bros, ABC, CW, Investigation Discovery, Travel Channel, Nickelodeon, & Cartoon Network.

Max's most unique educational experience was when he trained with brahmins and the Royal Family of Peliatan in Bali, ID to teach the cathartic mask work (Brahe/Davis Technique) he is so passionate about. He is 1 of 4 people in the world (2nd in the United States) teaching this unique work.

In addition to observing his mentor and colleague, Akil Apollo Davis, teach mask work at NYU Tisch and William Esper Studio, Max also offers mask workshops, private mask rentals, and 1 on 1 coaching sessions for actors. Max is a firm believer that everything in life happens for a reason and things always come full circle. So it's no surprise his favorite movie growing up was The Mask, starring Jim Carrey, and now mask work is one of his biggest passions.

Max's other notable work includes a Guest Star in Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall, the Lead Role in a Staged Reading of the new Drama/Comedy Play, The Number, at the JCC Manhattan, directed by Michael Bernardi (Tevye/Inkeeper in Fiddler on the Roof 2016 Broadway Revival) & written by Steven Fialkoff, as well as the Lead Role in the new Drama Play, The Brother's Khan: An American Story, at the 2018 Broadway Bound Theatre Festival, directed by Katrine Hilbe & written by George Pfirrmann.
